District of Ruse

There are dozens of reasons to visit this Bulgarian region. Its administrative centre – the city of Ruse – is the country’s biggest Danubian city. Known as Rusçuk during the Ottoman rule, it was one of the Empire’s major hubs. Today, because of its splendid architecture and building interiors, it is also called Little Vienna.
